Responsible for supporting all aspects of manufacturing/distribution in terms of machine design, process development, process improvement and process documentation.  Determine the operation required for fabrication, assembly, machining, or process of product from parts drawing, specifications, and other engineering material.  Responsible for documented Waste Elimination and Continuous Improvement of assigned process. Ensures process is capable of meeting production needs and quality requirements.


Will suggest cost justifications and support proposed process improvements, identify and suggest improvements in the process flow of production, and test electronics units using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustments.

Understand the process of assembly and production then suggest areas of improvement. Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.    Write reports and record data on testing techniques, equipment, and specifications to assist engineers.  

Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.  Decide and plans sequence of operation, forecast time requirements, and prepare information sheets.  

Provide user applications, engineering support, and recommendations for new and existing product(s) with regard to installation, upgrades, and enhancement.                 

Provide support and determine sources of problems and identify how to correct the problem in the most cost effective manner without jeopardizing quality.

Oversees CI projects.  Document before and after with results.                                                                                                                                                

Initiates ECRs and Deviations and works with Design Engineering as required.


Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.

Adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning machinery using hand tools.

Procure parts and maintain inventory and related documentation.

Works with Design Engineering on new products & internal jobs and develop & maintain area Visual Work Instructions.   Responsible for Rework process documentation & procedure within area.


EDUCATION

High School diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

Four year degree and two years of experience in manufacturing

Or Associate’s Degree and five years of experience in manufacturing

Prior supervisory experience

Electronics Assembly


Computer Skills

·      Proficient understanding of MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook), Autocad

·      Ability to learn new programs as needed

Other Requirements

·      Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and test equipment

·      Knowledge of electronic and mechanical devices

·      Must be able to use tools and measuring devices to obtain the most efficient operation

·      Ability to interact with other department and personnel

·      Ability to use  test and repair equipment (Mills, Lathes, and Welders)

·      Understanding of testing and troubleshooting of components

·      Ability to become forklift certified, train others,  and drive a forklift

·      Ability to become lockout/tagout certified

·      Ability to identify parts

·      Ability to train or supervise others and conduct meetings

·      Experience in a Lean Manufacturing Environment

·      Experience with Stastical Process Controls (SPC)

·      Understanding of ISO standards
